Mauro Carra en Tour - GB Par Rob Howard L'accordéoniste italien Mauro Carra sera en Grand Bretagne au mois de Janvier 2006 pour une courte tournée organisée par Roman Viazzani. Mauro Carra a commencé l'accordéon al'age de 9 ans avec comme professeur Piero Barbieri et Learco Gianferrari. Bruno Aragosti, Paolo Gandolfi, Renato Benelli, Gigi Stok, Venturi Carlo, Renzo Ruggeri, Frédéric Deschamps et Richard Galliano ont beaucoup influencés le jeu de Mauro. Jusqu'ici Mauro Carra a enregistré cinq CD et sixième est actuellement en projet. Mauro a participé avec succès aux concours nationaux et internationaux d'accordéon aLondon Accordion de Wembley Complex, puis a été soliste d'honneur avec l'orchestre de concert de la BBC, pour des soirée galas. D'autre participations en 2002 avec l'ochestre symphonique Teatro Comunale de Bologne, interprétant des musiques de films de Charlie Chaplin. Peter Soave Recital, Hanoi - Vietnam Par Christine Adams Le 3 Novembre l'accordeoniste amercain Peter Soave a donné un recital dans la salle de concert du conservatoire de Hanoï. Son programme etais Astor Piazzola et quelques pieces de ses compositions etd'improvisations. Peter Soave ( joue sur bayan et du bandoneon) a impressionné l'audience du Hanoï par le raffinement de son exceptionel goût musical, sa virtuosité et sa brillante technique. Peter Soave a eu une réunion avec des professeurs et des étudiants du département d'accordéon au conservatoire de Hanoï.

Pamela Deakin est mort à Birmingham - UK Par Rob Howard Le professeur d'accordéon Pamela Deakin est mort à l'age de 69 ans, en novembre, après une longue bataille avec le cancer. Pamela Deakin, de Warley, Staffordshire, était l'un des plus grand accordéoniste d' Angleterre dans les années 50, gagnant trois championnats, et une foule d'autres titres. Elle a commencé à étudier l'accordéon sous les conseils du défunt argile de George en 1950. Son progrès était rapide, et dans un délai de trois ans elle était une championne nationale, gagnant le championnat d'amateur de la Tout-Grande-Bretagne en 1953, et encore en 1954. En 1955 Pamela a réalisé un huitième honorable place à la Coupe Mondiale, tenu à Brighton. Son plus grand succé est venu en 1956 où elle a gagné le championnat de Virtuose de la Tout-Grande-Bretagne, bien que sa deuxième tentative au titre du monde ait été moins réussie que la première, finissant à la quinzième place . Sur la fin de sa carrière, Pamela Deakin était un professeur d'accordéon, populaire et respecté, dans les Midland.

Alexander Sklyarov Concert, Astana - Kazakhstan Par Rob Howard Le 23 novembre dans la capitale de Kazakhstan, Astana, un brillant concert a eu lieu avec l'artiste " personage de la Russie " Alexandre Sklyarov. Le concert a été tenu dans nouveau " Organ Hall " récemment ouvert de l'académie nationale Kazakh de la musique. Le programme de concert a inclus des morceaux par I.Muffat, B.Bend, E.Derbenko, V.Chernikov et Alexandre Timoshenko. Alexandre Sklyarov a exécuté des transcriptions des chansons nationales russes, par Alexandre Timoshenko, qui a été consacré à la mémoire du compositeur. Précédement des masterclass ont étées tenues par Sklyarov, faisant participer des étudiants à l'académie de la musique. Les musiciens d'autres villes de Kazakhstan ont voyagés à Astana pour voir et entendre le jeu de cet interprète exceptionnel. "nous n'avons jamais entendu une telle exécution avant", commentaire entendu plusieurs fois après le concert. Les critiques plus tard ont présentés leurs observations sur sa musique magnifique, sa technique brillante et dynamique puissante.

Salomòn Canelo Concert Tour, Mexico City - Mexico Accordionist Salomòn Cinnamon has completed a tour of Mexico, performing concerts in Atargea, Villagrand, Acàmbaro, Irapuato, Comonfort, Pènjamo, San Josè Iturbide, San Diego de la Uniòn, San Felipe, Doctor Mora, Tierra Blanca, Dolores Hidalgo and Victoria. The tour was organised by the Government's Institute of Culture.

He can also be heard on the Sunday morning program 'Viva l'Accordéon' on Radio Côte, 100. FM, alongside Michel Pruvot, André Verchuren and Frédéric François. Karen Street Concerts, West Country - UK Contributed by Rob Howard Accordionist Karen Street, with Stan Sulzmann (saxophone), Mike Outram (guitar) and Fred Baker (bass), plays the following concerts:- December 4th - The Sandpiper Inn, Countisbury 5th - The Beaver Inn, Appledore 6th - St Ives Jazz Club, Western Hotel 7th - St Michael's Church, Beer 8th - Tor Leisure Centre, Glastonbury Karen Street was the All Britain Virtuoso Champion in 1982 and 1983, and a competitor in the 1984 CIA Coupe Mondiale held in Folkestone, England. She later performed on saxophone as a member of the all female quartet the Fairer Sax, and now has returned to the accordion, both as a player and a composer. Wartime Singalongs, Stockport - UK Accordionists Rob Howard and John Jones lead singalongs of World War Two songs at the Stockport Air Raid Shelters on December 5th, 8th and 15th, from 8.15pm. These shows are at the end of guided tours of the underground shelters where in 1940 and 1941, up to 7,000 people spent the nights to escape bombing raids. Accordionists were a regular and welcome form of entertainment in the shelters, and the present day shows are also proving popular with the public. Irish Music Concert, East Sussex - UK On December 8th, diatonic button accordionist Joe Whelan, banjo player Liam Farrell, and pianist Reg Hall will perform Irish music and songs at the The Royal Oak Folk Club, Lewes, East Sussex. Annual Accordion Orchestra Charity Concert, Macclesfield - UK Contributed by Rob Howard The Stockport Accordion Orchestra, directed by Brian Jenkins, perform at Henbury and Broken Cross Institute, Macclesfield on December 9th, at 8pm. Jimmy Shand Memorial Concert, Fife - UK Contributed by Rob Howard The annual Jimmy Shand Memorial Concert takes place on January 29th, from 1.30 to 5pm, at St Andrew's Town Hall, Fife, Scotland. This popular event involves at least 26 guest accordionists, and all the music performed is either composed by Sir Jimmy Shand, or has been recorded by him. The concert will end with all the players in an ensemble, playing 'The Bluebell Polka', 'Whistling Rufus', The Six Twenty Two Step', and other numbers made famous by Jimmy Shand and his Band. All proceeds from the concert will be donated to Chas (a charity for terminally ill children) and Rymonth House, which caters for people with learning disabilities. Sir Jimmy Shand (1908-2001), the only accordionist to date to receive a Knighthood by HM Queen Elizabeth, was a highly prolific recording artiste and composer, with a career that lasted over sixty years. His influence on Scottish music and dancing was profound, inspiring countless numbers of people to play and listen to accordions. In recent years, many Shand recordings have been issued on digitally remastered CDs, including material that covers the 1930s until recent times.
