Institute of Musical Arts, puis décroché un degré
sa propre école musicale privée The Music Centre Conservatory
d'accordéon et bayan au College of Fine Arts and Performing
Accordionists Association (AAA).
1928 Star Batt Drive, Rochester Hills, Michigan 48309. Steve Stolaruk
parrainée par The Detroit News.
Ruggieri.

The
Victorian Connection, Melbourne - Australia Contributed
by Rob
Howard
The
Melbourne Accordion Orchestra, under the baton of Bernadette
Conlon, played host to an international sextet with a difference.
Melbourne is situated in the Australian state of Victoria, and the
Italian group from Trento, Italy is titled Ensemble Victoria. The
sextet comprises Michelangelo Felicetti, Attilio Amitrano, Margherita
Berlanda, Alessandrio Zambaldi, Matreo Paoli and Stefano Bragagna.
The Victorian connection was further increased, with a visit from
Ries Vilk, of the Victorian Accordion Club in Victoria, Canada, who
contacted Bernadette,
as he was in Melbourne for an extended visit and joined the Melbourne
Accordion Orchestra for rehearsals for this very special private concert.
The program included performances of music ranging from Chinese and
Korean traditional songs, to a vocal performance by bass accordionist
Merrin Torpy, a professional tango singer, as well as traditional
accordion standards by Guido Diero, marches and film music.
The visiting guests brought a new light to the accordion world in
Melbourne, with arrangements of Galliano, Piazzolla, Scarlatti, Fancielli
and Schiamo. The Melbourne City Council invited the Ensemble Victoria
to Melbourne for the Grand Opening of the Plaza Italia in Lygon St
- Melbourne's Italian quarter. Whilst in Melbourne they performed
several other concerts including one in the Melbourne City Square.
This very multi-cultural evening, which featured performers of at
least a dozen nationalities, (including Scotsman Scott McDonald, a
resident of Australia for less than 2 weeks), further forged relations
between Melbourne and Italy in the strengthening of the accordion
network between the newly revived and developing accordion world in
Melbourne and the rest of the accordion world.

Yo
Yo Mundi's UK and Ireland 'Sciopero' Tour - Italy
Contributed by Holda
Paoletti-Kampl
The
Italian folk-rock band Yo Yo Mundi, featuring Fabio Martino on accordion,
have released on CD the soundtrack music to the 1925 silent movie
classic 'Stachka', a film made in the USSR and directed by Sergei
Eisenstein. The film is on release at a select number of venues in
the UK and Ireland, and Yo Yo Mundi are providing live musical accompaniment
wherever the film is being screened.
Sciopero is the Italian word for Stachka, which in English means Strike.
Eisenstein's film features historic experiments in the art of montage,
and is ideal for musicians to add sound patterns to fit the visual
images. Publicity for the film states that: "Yo Yo Mundi create
an all round musical and visual atmosphere, with their guitars swinging
from ethereal to punk rock and their gorgeous, swirly accordion sounds
along with tinkling percussion. Waltz-time keyboard tunes and pounding
folk-rock complete the opera, placing the band at the apex among the
Italian masters of silent film soundtracks". Yo
Yo Mundi's tour dates, all in February, are as follows:-
5th - London, Barbican Centre
6th - Petersfield, The Studio TPS
7th - Dartington, The Barn
8th - Norwich, NAC Norwich Arts Centre
9th - Chichester University - The Showroom
10th - Sheffield, Showroom
11th - Edinburgh, Filmhouse
12th - Manchester, Cornerhouse
