Anthony Galla- Rini a été le personnage de l'histoire de l'accordéon pour le 20° siècle. Né en Amérique de parents italiens, Galla- Rini a été, et ce à très haut niveau, un modèle pour l’interprétation, les arrangements et la composition à l’accordéon. Il a été pour le monde entier l’artiste le plus représentatif de l’accordéon. Après sa mort et malgré la grande douleur de son absence, nous resterons reconnaissant pour sa grande influence qui perdurera dans l’avenir.
Anthony galla- Rini (1904 - 2006) est né à Manchester, Connecticut, USA. Il a joué de la flute dès l'âge de 4 ans et l'accordéon à 6 ans. À 7 ans il se présentait sur la scène du Vaudeville théatre. Puis il a étudié la technique de la musique et l'art de la direction d’orchestres. Comme, Galla- Rini enseignait l'accordéon et composait la musique pour cet instrument, Il s'est spécialisé comme concertiste et s'est présenté sur les meilleures scènes d'Amérique (dont l’important Carnegie Hall de New York à plusieurs occasions) également en Grande Bretagne et en Europe.
Son premier concert pour accordéon a été composé en 1941, le second en 1976. Puis les arrangements pour accordéon de grands classiques, JS Bach, Beethoven, Brahms, Chopin, Handel, Tchaikovsky, ainsi que beaucoup d’autres.
Ce grand musicien a travaillé à Hollywood pour des musiques de films` Hans Christian Anderson', ` High Noon'et ` Rhapsody in Blue'. Anthony galla- Rini a été artiste, enseignant, lecteur de master classes et workshops.
A few hours ago, on the Sunday 30th July 2006, Anthony Galla-Rini had some troubles at the nursing home where he lived. He was taken to hospital where the family quickly gathered to say their goodbyes. His son Ron told me, that Tony Galla-Rini had a massive heart attack and died, at the grand age of 102 years.
Galla-Rini had a huge influence on the development of the accordion over so many decades. He is probably the most published arranger of all time and was famous for his recordings and teaching. His arrangements were always regarded as an epitomy of accuracy and attention to detail.
I have had Tony in my life from the age of 15, so you can see how much his passing means to me. He had a lot of influence on me, personally, and for thousands of other accordionists for such a very long time. He really was a truly great musician to whom every accordionist owes a tremendous gratitude.
This is truly the end of a very historical era of the accordion!
May we all be so blessed to have such a long and productive life.

Veronika Todorova Present au Limburger Sommerfest, Limburgh - Allemagne
Veronika Todorova d'Elz, Allemagne est la lauréate du 'Deutschen Akkordeon Mikpreis 2006 'et de la 5° édition du 'Prix Città d'Arti '(Italie). Avec son groupe 'Veronika Todorova Band 'elle sera présente pendant le Festival 'Limburger Sommerfeste 'en Serenadenhof en Limburgh (Lahn) le 12 Août à 20 heures.
Les musiciens seront : Veronika Todorova et Detlef Görke (bass). Leur progrramme Piazolla, Richard Galliano, Renzo Ruggieri, Vincenzo Embrassant, Pietro Frosini et Roman Bazhilin avec des transcriptions d'elle même.
L'artiste de 19 ans a été choisie dans Deusth armonika Verband 'pour sa participation à la Coupe Mondiale 2006 'en Norvège.
L’Orquestra d´Acordions de Sabadell formé en 1991 sous la direction du Maestro Miguel Ángel, enseignant d'accordéon et professeur au Conservatoire de Musique à Sabadell a maintenant un site.
L'orchestre a obtenu des prix importants dans les concouCittà di Castelfidardo per Orchestre” et le prix spécial d'Accordions Worldwide.
Jukka-Pekka Kuusela performed R. Murray Schafer's piece ‘La testa d'Adriane’ for mezzo-soprano and accordion with Finnish soprano Mari-Anne Hilander (please see picture). ‘La Testa d'Adriane’ is a theater piece, written by the Canadian composer, R. Murray Schafer (b. 1933) in 1977. The performance received standing ovations from an enchanted audience in the beautiful Lentua Concert Hall.

The festival planning has gone without a hitch. "The reality of a musicians' life is a mixture of concentration, creativity, stress, control and respect for music. There is no 'easy' way for any of us, but we are not daunted by the difficulties," is the Artistic Director's view in a nutshell.
The 10th annual Rocky Mountain Accordion Celebration takes place next weekend, August 4th to 6th, in Philipsburg, Montana. Guest performers include Lidia Kaminska, Sammy Thomas, The King Bees of The Bayou, the Smilin’ Scandinavians and the Awesome Polka Babes. Accordion technique workshops wil be led by Mike and Margie Aman.
The event is described by the organisers as “a rousing weekend of dancing and listening to music, steak barbeques and outdoor pancake breakfasts, concerts in the 1892 Opera House and a parade of homemade pies.”

On August 19th at 7pm, the Viennese Ensemble visiting from Vienna, Austria, and the Accordion Orchestra of Melbourne share a concert at the Austrian Club, Sheehan's Rd, Heidelberg. Virtuoso accordionist Bernadette Conlon will conduct the Accordion Orchestra of Melbourne, and will also give a solo performance.

A l’abordage au cabaret sauvage le samedi 26 août au soir pour une escale illuminée avec la nouvelle scène française (Daniel Mille, David Venitucci, Lionel Suarez, Didier Dullieux, Jean-Luc Amestoy, Pascal Contet). Soirée exceptionnelle et repas de fête ! De l’électro contemporain sino-français au jazz, de la chanson, de la danse aux rythmes endiablés des Balkans, le tout saupoudré d’un zeste d’apéro chantant et de découvertes sonores inouïes !

The Orquestra d´Acordions de Sabadell, formed in 1991 under the direction of Miguel Ángel Maestro, accordion teacher of the Professional Conservatory of Music of Sabadell, now has its own website.
The orchestra has won several competitions, most recent of which was the special 2006 Accordions Worldwide Award for the 1st Prize at the International Competition Città di Castelfidardo for Orchestras.
