Le Bayaniste Croate Miran Vaupotic effectuera une série de concerts avec l’orchestre Philarmonique de Rijeka, dirigé par Miroslav Homen. Les concerts seront donnés au Théâtre National de Croatie, Place Ivan, à Rijeka le 23 et du 27 au 30 décembre prochain.
Au programme : concerto pour Bayan et Orchestre – Rossiniana (en 3 mouvements) composé par Vladimir Zubitsky.
Miran Vaupotic est né à Zagreb en Croatie en 1982 et étudie avec Vladimir Balik (Honored Artiste de Russie) et Denis Modrusan (Diplômé de la classe de Vladimir Besfamilnov), et diplômé de la faculté des arts de Pula. Il a participé à des master classes données par Alexander Skliarov, Yuri Shiskin et Owen Murray. Après ses études, il enseigne à Zagreb dans une école de musique. Miran Vaupotic est triple vainqueur de la Coupe de Croatie et a également été lauréat de concours internationaux comme Pula (1999) et Le Trophée Mondial de Cosenza (2003).
Il a déjà joué avec d’éminents musiciens comme le guitariste Robert Belinic, le Rucner string Quartet, etc. Le répertoire de Miran s’étend du classique au contemporain, incluant de nombreuses transcriptions personnelles, ainsi que des créations croates.
A nouveau coffret incluant deux CD intitulé Memories regroupant les œuvres pour accordéon solo de Patrick Busseil vient d’être réalisé. Ses œuvres sont interprétées par concertistes internationaux de renom comme Thierry Accard - France, Max Bonnay - France, Philippe Bourlois - France, Angel Luis Castaño - Espagne, Claudio Jacomucci - Italie, Niko Kumpuvara - Finlande, Jean Marc Marroni - France, Anthony Millet - France, Dragan Vasiljevic - Serbie, Mika Vayrynen – Finlande, and Cao Ciao Qing - Chine.
Patrick Busseil est un compositeur de talent internationalement reconnu qui a déjà reçu Trois prix internationaux pour son travail. Né en 1956 à Dijon en France, Patrick Busseil étudia l’accordéon, le Trombone, la Contrebasse et la composition aux conservatoires de Lyon, Paris et Genève. IL enseigne aujourd’hui l’accordéon et la composition à l’école Nationale de Romans.

Du 2 au 6 novembre dernier, Renzo Ruggieri était membre du jury du prestigieux festival de Sarajevo (Directeur Artistique : Alma Flammesberg). Il a également effectué un concert avec un groupe Slovaque : Pavom Bosnar (Piano), Tomas barosc (Basse), et Peter Solarick (Batterie).
Le 18 Novembre dernier, Renzo faisait un concert soliste au Gallarate Jazz Festival (Direction Artistique : Max de Aloe) avec au programme de la musique italienne.
Il est également l’arrangeur du nouveau CD de Frédérick Schlick Three Brothers.
Le 6 décembre à 18 heures, Renzo sera à Teramo pour un concert lecture Accordion and Electronique. Depuis novembre, Renzo a enseigné l’accordéon et le Jazz au Conservatoire de Teramo ; où il est possible de prendre des cours par correspondance (en Italien uniquement) ou par Skype, également en Italien ou en anglais.
Du 18 au 20 Janvier prochain, le Ruggieri Grooup fera une mini tournée dans la province italienne de Reggio Emilia avec la célèbre chanteuse Antonella Ruggiero.
On November 22nd London-based Russian accordionist Nikolai Ryskov performed at the Open Evening of the Pushkin House, 5A Bloomsbury Square, London.
Pushkin House has been established to serve as a home and dedicated showcase for Russian culture in London, a focus for Anglo-Russian cultural exchange, a provider of education and information on Russian language and culture, a resource and networking centre for individuals and institutions.

The North Shore Accordion Orchestra performed before the start of the Farmers Santa Parade, in Auckland on November 26th. This parade attracts a crowd of nearly quarter of a million children and parents who lined the streets to see the bands, floats and clowns bringing Santa to town.
The picture shows Lionel Reekie conducting and a clown attempting to conduct the group whilst they are performing. The Orchestra played Christmas carols and pieces they are to perform in Dargaville at the Museum opening on the December 3rd.
Mario D'Amario, young accordion entertainer and winner of the prestigious competition of Castelfidardo, performed his first major solo concert on the occasion of the 12th Festival dell'Ancia Libera in Collecorvino. Mario played with great ease about an hour a program of music by Richard, Evans, Morocco, Piazzolla, Astier, Corea, Parker, Abreu and Ruggieri. The show was organized in memory of Claudio Calista.
Italian accordionist Ivano Battiston performs in two concerts with the Quad City Symphony Orchestra, MD David Bellugi, on December 2nd and 3rd in the Centennial Hall, Rock Island, Illinois.
These concerts, part of the Masterworks Series, include performances of ‘Overture to Il Signor Bruschino’ – Rossini, ‘Ancient Airs and Dances’ – Luciano, ‘Concerto for Accordion’ (‘Aconcagua’) – Piazzolla, ‘Concerto for Accordion, Recorder, and Orchestra’ – Battiston, and ‘Symphony No. 4 in A Minor, Op. 90’ (‘Italian’) – Mendelssohn.

The NAO UK Championships take place at The Spa, Scarborough, from May 4th to 6th 2007. The Spa Complex, a Victorian masterpiece, hosts the Championships with six venues under one roof.
The weekend will feature an International Solo Class, own choice program only, plus competitions for all levels including solo, duo, ensemble and orchestra as well as a large trade show with music and instruments. Festival events include a Ceilidh dance (with Gary Blair and his Ceilidh Dance Band) and performances by international guests.
The Victor Prieto Trio will be performing on December 3rd, at 8.30pm, at Cornelia Street Cafe, New York. The trio includes Victor Prieto – accordion, Carlo DeRosa - bass and Mark Ferber- drums.
The 32nd International Accordionists’ Competition takes place in Pula from April 24th to 29th. The competition includes sections for bayan, piano accordion, standard bass and free bass instruments. Entries must be made by March 1st 2007.
On Friday December 8th, at 8pm, Stockport Accordion Band and Orchestra concert perform their annual charity concert at Broken Cross Club, Macclesfield, Cheshire. All money raised goes to the East Cheshire Hospice.
