Festival d'accordéon de ‘Nuits de Nacre', Tulle - France
Le 19ème festival de `Nuits de Nacre' (dernières nuits de mère de perle) a lieu du 13 au 16 septembre à Tulle, France.
Depuis son invention, l'accordéon a été intégré dans la musique de ‘living room’ du 19ème siècle, s'adaptant aux répertoires des chanteurs populaires et des faits divers folklores régionaux. Tulle, en Auvergne, est un centre de l'accordéon en France, et les accordéonistes apporteront toutes sortes de styles au festival.
Avec de nombreux lieux de rendez-vous et plus de 40 artistes/groupes différents, comprenant des stars internationals comme Marcel Azzola, Jerome Richard et son orchestre, l'orchestre national de jazz et coopération, de Finlande - le festival offre variété et diversité pour tous.
La plupart des 70 concerts environ, ont lieu en soirées dans des chapiteaux, au théâtre municipal, divers restaurants, brasseries et cafés au centre de Tulle.
Il y a également les groupes et exécution d'artistes « officieux » habituellement nombreux. Le festival a lieu sur la course facile de l'usine d'accordéon de Maugein.

Mika Väyrynen enseignera sur une conférence internationale, Plouay - France
L'accordéoniste finlandais Mika Väyrynen sera l'instructeur invité à la 9ème conférence et concerts internationaux d'accordéon à Plouay, Morbihan, France, du 29 au 31 octobre.
Des accordéonistes de tous les âges, niveaux et styles de musique qui veulent démontrer intérêt suffisant et les professeurs qui souhaitent maintenir des qualifications d’ enseignement sont invités pour y être présents. Le logement avec des familles d’accueil sera fourni librement à ceux moins de 20 ans, et si l'espace est encore disponible, aussi aux adultes, toutefois le logement dans un hôtel est également disponible. Les honoraires pour assister à la conférence côutent 170€.
Le début des récitals de Mika ont eu lieu à Tampere, Finlande en 1985. Aprés ça il a donné des centaines de récitales partout dans le monde incluant Autriche, Belgique, Ukraine, Chine, Croatie, Danemark, Finlande, France, Allemagne, Islande, Japon, Pays Bas, Norvège, Pologne, Russie, Slovaquie, Suède et aux Etats-Unis, et il enseigne actuellement à l'académie Sibelius à Helsinki.

Célébration du 150eme anniversaire de Hohner - Allemagne
La Célébration du 150eme anniversaire de Hohner à Trossingen a été un succès important pour la compagnie, ayant l'appui politique principal avec plusieurs politiciens très importants parlant sur la fonction officielle principale.
En plus, il y eut le soutien du public principal de ses activités, particulièrement la tentative de record du monde d'harmonica où des milliers de personnes ont batus avec le soutiennent de la compagnie et ont dépassé le record mondiale. Plus de 3.300 harmonicas ont été enregistrés. Les rapports quotidiens de l'événement sont on line.
Les dates du CMA Trophée Mondiale ont été changées par un jour, du 4 au 8 novembre pour être maintenant le 5 au 9 novembre. L'événement sera tenu dans la grande ville de Samara environ 800 kilomètres à l'est de Moscou.
Pour sa 8ème édition, International Music Accordion Camp a élu domicile à Sauris di Sotto, petit village situé à 1400m d’altitude, près d’Udine, au nord de Venise, dans la chaîne de montagnes des Dolomites. Un petit paradis où vacances et musique se conjuguent à merveille.
Dans un charmant hôtel *** qui vit sa première expérience dans l’accueil d’un groupe entier de musiciens par lesquels il est entièrement occupé, le patron est aux petits soins autant pour les organisateurs que pour les accordéonistes. Ainsi, dans un cadre aussi agréable, entouré de Jean-Louis Noton, Mady et Peter Soave, pratiquer l’instrument n’est plus un travail mais un réel plaisir. De plus, les moyens de se divertir ne manquent pas, puisque massages, sauna, équitation, quad, tennis, randonnée et baignade au lac sont autant d’activités proposées sur place. Sans oublier que les participants avaient la chance de pouvoir assister aux concerts animés par Mady, Peter et Jean-Louis dans les villes de Pordenone, Piancavallo et Sauris, organisés par les présidents/gouverneurs de la région d’Udine.
Nos artistes en herbe ont également pu profiter de la présence de Jean-Pierre Andréani (professeur dans la région de Chambéry), Ralf Bethke (professeur en Allemagne), et de Denis Tini, directeur du département Musique (Professeur de Jazz, Harmonie, Direction d’orchestre…) à l’Université de Detroit.
Pour les 90 passionnés de musique venus du monde entier (France, Italie, Allemagne, Suisse, Finlande et Croatie pour l’Europe, Oregan et Texas pour les Etats-Unis et Vancouver pour le Canada) qui se sont succédés du 22 au 29 juillet et du 1er au 8 août, ce séjour musical en Italie fut une réussite. Et pour oublier que la semaine est si vite terminée, tous parlent déjà de se retrouver ici l’an prochain !
Music of Nihad Hrustanbegovic in New Heineken TV Commercial - Netherlands
The première of the new commercial for Heineken Extra Cold took place on Monday 23rd. Music for this advertisement is played and composed by concert accordionist Nihad Hrustanbegovic and is called 'World Promenade'.
The clip is now to be seen on all Dutch public and commercial television. Nihad wrote the ‘World Promenade’ in February 2007 and it is the first part (also the introduction) of the ‘Stork Suite’. This Suite is recorded on his first solo CD: ‘The best of Concert Accordion’.
Nihad performed on March 28th as a soloist in the Dutch TV program, 'De wereld draait door' of Matthijs van Nieuwkerk. This performance is the number 1 of the show's Top 11 since the end of May as the best artiste of last season. Nihad Hrustanbegovic will be performing from upcoming September on several Dutch music concert stages.
Leading jazz accordionist Harry Hussey was the guest at Stockport Accordion Club in the North west of England on September 12th, enthralling and amazing his audience with his improvisational skills. As is his custom, Harry had no prepared programme and took audience requests for the whole of his one and half hours spot.
His numbers included ‘Glenn Miller Medley’, ‘Tea for Two’, ‘Siboney’, ‘Autumn Leaves’, ‘Sway’, ‘Wave’, ‘Jealousy’, ‘Take Five’, Begin the Beguine’, and many more. He also did some unrehearsed duets with concertina player John Nixon, and these included ‘Fascinating Rhythm’, ‘As Time Goes By’, ‘Don’t Get Around Much Anymore’ and ‘How High the Moon’. Also performing were Rob Howard, Ann Parker, Ray Peacock, Martina Hall and John Higham. The evening also saw the book launch of ‘An A to Z of the Accordion, Volume 3’, which sold lots of copies on the night.
During September a series of courses for various folk music instruments take place in Águeda. On September 15th (2pm until 5pm) and 16th (9.30am until 12.30pm) Artur Fernandes (picture left) will teach diatonic accordion. On Sunday September 23rd (9.30am until 12.30pm) Dulce Cruz will teach harmonica.
Guy Klucevsek will present an evening of his chamber music compositions at The Stone, New York City, on Sunday, September 16th, at 8pm.
The Stone is at the corner of Ave. C and 2nd Street, NYC. Featured performers will be Theo Bleckmann - voice, Steve Elson - clarinet/sax, Nurit Tilles - piano, and Klucevsek - accordion. Included will be the premiere of a suite called ‘Angels and Accordions’, for clarinet/sax and accordion.
MUSICÁLIA 2007 takes place in Lisbon from September 20th to 23rd. This exhibition of musical instruments and equipment manufacturers includes the Roland Virtual Accordion. On Saturday 22nd, João Gentil will be demonstrating the various Roland V Accordion models.
The musical show, Pennies From Heaven: The Life and Songs of Arthur Tracy, 'The Street Singer', returns to London, October 2nd to 7th, starring Internationally-known American cabaret star, Steve Ross, New York singer/writer, Gregory Moore, and London-based accordionist, Romano Viazzani.
America’s Arthur Tracy was one of the most famous singing accordionists of the 1930s, both in the U.S. and the U.K., in film, radio, recordings and live concert appearances. His hit records of the 1930s included ‘Marta’, (his theme song), ‘The Way You Look Tonight’, and ‘Pennies From Heaven’. Romano Viazzani will be playing these and many original and vintage arrangements of accordion tunes of that era.
The show takes place at the Jermyn Street Theatre, 16b Jermyn St, London SW1Y 6ST. Performances are at 7.30pm on October 2nd to 6th, and there are 2 matinee performances at 4pm October 6th and 7th.
The Big National Ceilidh, a unique nationwide event staged in aid of charity, takes place on Thursday October 18th. The Big National Ceilidh is a night when, in cities, towns and villages all over the country, thousands of people will simultaneously be dancing to the music of live bands.
Each event will be locally organised and distinctive, but two main elements will bind them together:
1) the proceeds from all the events will be given to a single, hugely worthwhile charity, WaterAid;
2) and at 10pm all the bands will be playing the same tune (‘Jamie Allen’) and as many people as possible will be dancing ‘The Circassian Circle’.
A website www.bignationalceilidh.co.uk has been set up so that bands can register. Details of your ceilidh will then appear on the site, and you will soon be able to find out about other events taking place near you and across the country.
The website also includes more information about the event as a whole, on how to send your proceeds to WaterAid, and advice for running a successful evening. Further information, including suggestions and images for publicity materials, will be introduced in due course. There's already lots of interest in The Big National Ceilidh right across Britain.
