The festival aims to reach as many people as possible, and for that reason the key word is “meeting” – between the different brands of accordions, between international artists and teachers, between the city and the guests, according to Francesca Santini of Ideazione Eventi.

Le 28 septembre, les semi-finales hollandaises ont eu lieu au
sièges sociaux de Roland central Europe en Belgique. Ce concours était pour les contestants flamands et Néerlandais de la Belgique. Quatre concurrents ont donné leur meilleur pour convaincre le jury qu'ils sont les meilleurs joueurs de V-Accordéon. Les milieux du contestant étaient très différents, du professeur à l'étudiant, ils ont tout essayé leur meilleur !
Chaque contestant a dû jouer un morceau musical de trois jusqu'à cinq minutes. Ils ont été jugées sur la technique, l'originalité et les qualifications.
Le gagnant des semi-finale-finales hollandaises est Pieter Bosma (30 années
Coevoorden, de Hollande). Il est un professionnel et donne des leçons d'accordéon. Il a joué sa propre version artistique du `Kwartet Musette', par Allan Mussini, sur son propre FR-7b.
Tous les contestants ont reçu un prix de leur effort. Le gagnant reçu
un FR-3, la seconde un CD-2, le tiers un R-09 et le quart un micro cube.
Le 20 octobre, ces trois qualifiés aux finales seront présents, avec les 3 qualifiés aux finales françaises, sur la grande finale de Roland Central Europe. De ces six concurrents, une personne sera choisie pour aller à la finale internationale en Italie!
Le Semi-finale française a eu lieu à la ville de Bourboule dans le casino de Nice. La Bourboule est à 500 kilomètres de Paris direction sud-ouest, près de Clermont-Ferrand. 10 musiciens ont été choisis à participer, 5 venant de l'école d'accordéon internationale et célèbre CNIMA. Ce concours était également ouvert au concurrents de langue française de Belgique et du Luxembourg.
Le jury s'est composé de Ludovic Beier (accordéoniste, joueur de démo du V-Accordéon), de Daniel Deruytere (Roland Central Europe) et de Philippe Krumm (directeur du magazine d’ `Accordeons et Accordeonistes). Pendant l'après-midi, Daniel a montré et expliqué à l’assistances les séries FR et a joué des duets avec Ludovic.
L'assistance était principalement composé par accordéonistes, environ 70% - grâce au CNIMA. Notre événement a été au même jour du quart de finale de la coupe du monde de rugby. Ainsi, je considère que ce défi a été réussi une fois que nous avons reçu autour de 120 personnes pour voir le festival de V-Accordéons.
Le niveau technique de la plupart des concurrents était très élevé. Ils ont employé beaucoup de diférent son et le pedalier, explorant au maximum le potentiel du FR.
Le gagnant, Felicien Brut, et 3ème placé, Amelie Castel, sont venus de CNIMA, tandis que le 2eme placé, le concurrent Bereswind Olland, a fait plusieurs cours de formation au CNIMA.
UNAC (Unión de Acordeonistas), San Sebastián - Espagne
UNAC - l'union des accordéonistes a maintenant atteint le premier anniversaire du sa fondation. UNAC s'est produite dans le but de recueillir au-dessous d’une association de support une gamme étendue de professionnels du monde d'accordéon - soloists, interprètes de groupe, compositeurs, professeurs, etc., ainsi que les joueurs et les enthusiastes de l’accordéon, et amateurs de toutes les sortes.
Cependant les divers objectifs décrits dans leur manifeste de fondation sont maintenant accomplis sur différent nivaux, mais ils ont tous une chose en commun: une dévotion passionnée et collective à l'accordéon. Pour cette raison UNAC est actuellement soutenant et favorisant des événements importants organisés par différents associations et groupes :
- le 20ème anniversaire de l'orchestre de Zero-Sette, la cinquantième édition du Certámen Nacional de Acordeón, le 15ème festival international de Cantabrian, la conférence internationale de jazz de Zarautz, la semaine d'accordéon de Valladolid, etc., en plus d'une pleine et diverse liste de conférences et de Master Classes données par Bonnay maximum, Luciano Biondini, Frederic Deschamps, Ignacio Alfayé et Jean-Louis Noton.
UNAC voudrait également appeler l'attention sur le nombre de plus en plus important de nouveaux enregistrements commerciaux crées par ses membres, maintenant étant édités. UNAC, maintenant identifié par la CIA (confédération internationale des accordéonistes) en tant que membre, est basé à Donostia, San Sebastián.
’Mull Reflections’ est le titre d'un nouveau CD solo par l’accordéoniste Deirdre Adamson, jouant les compositions de Calum MacLean, un des plus grands accordéonistes d’Ecosse. Les 20 titres incluent des morceaux internationaux tels que des ‘Echoes de Luzerne' (valse), de `San Antonio' (paso doble), de `Veronique' (musette de valse), ‘Springtime In Switzerland’ (valse), ‘Memories of Bad-Godesberg' (polka), plus de nombreuses compositions dans un modèle écossais, tel que le `Sunset On Sunart', le Fernie MacDonald’s Jig’, le `Yhe Hills of Mull', ‘The Man From North Connel', et ‘Jim McAlister Jig'.
Calum MacLean a été champion européen d'accordéon en 1970, et aprés ça il est devenu bien connu pour sa capacité de composer de la musique pour accordéon dans une variété de genres. La plupart des compositions de Calum MacLean ont été publiés.
The NE Accordion Festival, presented in association with the Walker Art Center and sponsored by KFAI FM Radio, takes place the Cedar Cultural Center from November 9th to 11th.
Performers include Dan Turpening, Finn Hall, Joanna Darrow, Dan Newton, Larry Malmberg & Mike Alongi, Mark Stillman, Datta, Dee Langley, Orkestar Bez Ime, Jerry Minar, Hank Thunander, Frode Haltli (Norway), and John Scaffeo, Canada. The festival includes concerts, workshops, ‘Jazz Symposium’, Massed Accordion Band rehearsal and performance (MD Wendy Tangen-Foster).
This festival began ten years ago and has three times upgraded to larger venues to accommodate increasing visitor numbers. The accordion is alive and well (and blossoming) in Minneapolis/ St Paul!
The opening evening concert, on Friday September 28th, featured a full performance by the Elsene Accordion Orchestra, from the Netherlands.
The 2007 Lasarte-Oria Accordion Festival main evening concert took place on Saturday September 29th at the Casa de Cultura, Lasarte-Oria, in the Basque region of Northern Spain. A sell out audience enjoyed performances by Enrike Zelaia (Spain - right), Nathalie Boucheix (France - left), the Elsene Accordion Orchestra, and the Zero Sette Akordeoi Orkestra (Spain). Amaia González and José Mari Orbegozo, Tango Europe Champions 2007, gave a spectacular performance of tangos, to the accompaniment of the Zero Sette Akordeoi Orkestra.
Next year’s Lasarte-Oria Accordion Festival takes place from September 26th to 28th 2008, and invitations are extended to accordion orchestras from any part of the world to visit and participate.
Roland Europe S.p.A (Acquaviva Picena, Italy), a manufacturing subsidiary of the international electronic musical instrument producer Roland Corporation (Japan), organized an international meeting in Castelfidardo, Italy on October 2nd and 3rd. The two-day meeting was dedicated to Roland's V-Accordion and V Accordion Specialists.
V-Accordion sales staff were invited from Roland's sales subsidiaries and joint-venture companies all over the world including; USA, Canada, Brazil, UK, Germany, Denmark, Finland, Belgium, France, Portugal, Hungary, Poland, and Italy. This international meeting was organized with the support of Castelfidardo City Hall, and the meeting itself took place at the Conference Room in the Castelfidardo City Hall. Photographs
This meeting was titled ‘V-Accordion Camp’, and various topics such as the introduction of the brand-new V-Accordion models FR-2 / FR-2b (the first shipment was just made in September), V-Accordion R&D history and technology, V-Accordion Promotional Strategy, V-Accordion Festival up-to-date... were all discussed.
Furthermore, in order to develop their knowledge of accordion development and history in general, they visited the Castelfidardo Accordion Museum. There, they received a warm welcome by Mr. Beniamino Bugiolacchi, the director of Museum. Many of the participants saw for the first time, not only the historical accordions but also the fact that the Roland's first V-Accordion model FR-7 is exhibited at the Museum. Photographs
Balkan Dance Party, Minneapolis – USA

The Orkestar Bez Ime, featuring accordionist Dee Langley, play for the Balkan Dance Party at at the Cedar Cultural Center, 416 Cedar Ave South, Minneapolis, Minnesota on October 13th, at 8pm. The event also marks the release of OBI’s new CD ‘Nice Driveway, Volume Three: Rogarian Baba-que’.
Shetland's 20th Accordion & Fiddle Festival takes place from October 11th to 15th. In honor of the season, Joan will also play some Oktoberfest tunes. In addition, Jim will show some videos of Russian musicians. Afterwards, rehearsals will take place for the December 16th holiday concert.
Veteran accordionist Andre Verchuren is in concert at the Salle de Marinieres, Porcieu Amblagnieu on October 21st, at 11.30am. Born in 1920, Verchuren’s career spans the generations from the 1930s, through the post-war years right up to the present time.
