Concours Eurovision des jeunes musiciens, Varsovie - Pologne

Le 5 février, l'accordéoniste polonais Maciej Frąckiewicz a pris part aux demi-finales nationales du 14eme Grand Prix Eurovision des jeunes musiciens.
Il est l'un des 7 musiciens qui jouent dans la finale nationale avec l'Orchestre symphonique de la Radio polonaise sous Lukasz Borowicz. Maciej interprétera “Aconcagua Concerto pour Bandonéon et Orchestre”, par Piazzolla.
La finale nationale sera le 28 février au Studio S1 à la radio polonaise à Varsovie. Maciej Frąckiewicz étudié à l'Académie de Musique Frédéric Chopin à Varsovie sous Klaudiusz Baran. Il est lauréat d'un grand nombre de compétitions nationales et internationales, y compris Klingenthal, Castelfidardo et Poprad.
Pour marquer la célébration de la de la 20ème année de la Rand Orchestre symphonique, sous la baguette du musicien distingué, Bernard Wozny, un concert a été organisé avec un invité acclamés Sergio Zampolli, accordéoniste. Ils performeronts' Concerto in A Minor ", de Pietro Deiro.
Né en Italie, Zampolli a commencé à jouer de l'accordéon à l'âge de neuf ans. Il vint en l'Afrique du Sud quand il avait onze ans et a depuis remporté de nombreux prix pour ses interprétations. Il est membre du groupe Duo 2000, accordéon MIDI et harpe acoustique, avec Amarillie Ackermann, et est le représentant de l'Afrique du Sud pour la Confédédation
Mondiale de l'Accordéon.
Orchestre symphonique de la Rand a été un contributeur vibrant de la musique classique à Johannesburg depuis près de 30 ans, et Bernard Wozny a été le directeur artistique depuis 1987. Sous sa direction, l'orchestre a grandi auprès des service de la communauté de Johannesburg, et dispose de 40 membres à plein temps.
Le concert aura lieu le 2 mars, 16h, à l'Eglise du Sud Randburg NG sur Malcolm Street, Blairgowrie.
L’accordéoniste finlandais Mika Väyrynen réalisera la première mondiale du nouveau "Quintette pour cordes et accordéon», du compositeur finlandais Matti Murto, au 10eme Festival Hiver Accordéon Kokkola. Le concert intitulé "Transitions" aura lieu le 19 février au Conservatoire Central Ostrobothnien à Kokkola à 19h. Le concert offrira des «quatre points de vue différents de la musique contemporaine», par Murto, en plus des compositions de Ginastera, Pärt, et Reich.
Né en 1947 à Tampere, Matti Murto diplômé de l'Académie Sibelius avec un diplôme en théorie musicale. Un membre de la Société des compositeurs finlandais, Matti a également étudié musicologie à l'Université de Helsinki
Le montant annuel d'hiver de Kokkola Accordéon Festival aura lieu du 16 au 24 Février, et comprend un éventail très large de musique – du classique à la musique folk, harmonica et bandoneons, des projections de films mettant en vedette l'accordéon, musiques de films, compositions modernes, et de la musique d'église et du hard-rock . Des concerts, des danses et des événements en plein air font partie de la fête.
L'événement de cette année comprend également des accordéonistes finlandais Markus Luomala, Teija Niku, et Antti Purola, Sweden's Anders Larsson, joueur de bandonéon norvégien Per Arne Glorvigen, ainsi que les «Jeunes virtuoses» de l'Ostrobotnie.

Dans les deux dernières semaines, j'ai eu l'enregistrement de musique scandinave avec un thème d'accordéon comme soliste avec le Royal Norwegian Air Force Band, dirigé par le célèbre trompettiste Ole Edvard Antonsen. Ce projet prévoit de nouvelles dispositions sur toute la période "Summer Hits" de la Scandinavie et en plus de moi comme accordéon soliste, l'un des chanteurs les plus populaires en Norvège, Bjarne Brøndbo, contribue sur plusieurs chansons. Les CD seront disponibles pour vente en juin.
Renowned Japanese accordionist Yasuhiro 'Coba' Kobayashim performed
on a special concert 'A Tribute to Toru Takemitsu' at the famed Kennedy
Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC. Currated by his
daughter Maki Takemitsu, the concert featured Kazumi Watanabe and
Daisuke Suzuki on guitar, Coba on accordion, and Tomohiro Yahiro on
percussion.
One of Japan's most famous and celebrated composers, Toru Takemitsu
(1930-1996) broke new ground by exploring principles of western classical
music and his native Japanese tradition. Largely self-taught, he experienced
a stroke of luck in the 1950s when Igor Stravinsky heard his work
by accident, greatly admired it, and helped bring him international
attention. Influenced by French music, particularly that of Debussy
and Messiaen, some of Takemitsu's most well known compositions encompasses
jazz and film music.
With his extremely unique, pop, accordion music, Coba has helped revolutionize
the image of the accordion. In 1995, the Icelandic singer Bjork saw
his concert performance in London and was instantly attracted to his
music. Immediately after the performance, he was asked to join her
on a world tour, which lasted three years and covered more than 60
countries reaching more than 3 million people.
Coba produces music for more than 10 regular nationwide TV and radio
programs. In addition to releasing his 29th CD, he is also engaged
in a variety of activities ranging from producing projects for various
other artistes to producing film music, which makes this popular accordionist
one of the busiest composers, performers and producers in Japan.

Joao Gentil performs most
evenings at the recently opened Piazzolla Caffe & Bar in Cantanhede.
The café is doing very well indeed, and is always full at weekends.
There are often other musicians guests present, including saxophones,
drums, double bass, flute, singers, etc…
The music and dancing includes the tango, jazz and bossa nova. Recently
the milonga has also been introduced.
On the first day 650 people turned up, and the support has continued
to be excellent, always ensuring a party atmosphere.
Joao Gentil will soon be heading off for a short tour in Spain, which
includes playing at the amazing Plaza Mayor in Salamanca!
The 'Club des Accordéonistes' based in the town of Bulle, Switzerland,
have produced their second CD, titled 'Horizons'. The program includes
such diverse items as the 'Concerto for Trumpet' - Khatchatourian,
and 'Rhapsody in Blue' - Gershwin.
The Club des Accordéonistes, which has a history dating back
to 1935, has recently competed in competitions in Castelfidardo, Italy,
and Belfort, France.
Accordionist Victor Prieto and renowned bagpipes player Cristina Pato,
who are both Spanish born, will give demonstration concerts at the

Museum of Art, Fifth Avenue at 82nd Street, New York, on February

The concert is free with Museum admission. The Department of Musical
Instruments presents the event, with sponsorship from the General

'Two Accordions with Attitude', Staten Island -

The
Center for the Arts at the College of Staten Island, 2800 Victory
Blvd., Staten Island, NY 10314, is presenting the event, 'Two Accordions
with Attitude', featuring accordionists Guy
Klucevsek and Alan Bern, on Saturday, February 23rd at 8pm.
On stage Guy
Klucevsek and Bern create an international tour-of-the-senses
with their soul-stirring gypsy melodies, riotous klezmer, and exotic
arabesque airs.
Combined with their interpretive jazz, deep blues, and innovative
new world sounds, they move around the continents and through time,
playing songs with ancient melodies as well as startlingly fresh 21st
century compositions.
Stephen Eddis from allmusicguide.com says, "The number of classical
accordion virtuosos is small, but Guy Klucevsek and Alan Bern are
among its brightest lights."

Out The Accordion'. This book will be available at the end of
