Le duo accordéon d'Adrian Stieglitz et Simon Zimmerling de Hof, Allemagne, a remporté le prestigieux titre Jugend musiziert Ensemble Accordéon au cours du 45eme Concours National de Musique, qui s'est tenue à Saarbrücken, en Allemagne.
Les catégories prévues de cette année de la compétition Deutscher Musikrat Jugend musiziert sont le clavier, harpe, voix, Brass Ensemble, Ensemble de cordes, Accordéon et Ensemble de musique contemporaine, avec catégorie d'Ensemble Accordéon pour les groupes de 2-5 accordéonistes, dans quatre divisions d'âges. Le jury de la catégorie d’accordéon sont Hans-Martin Uhle, Bärbel Claus, Andreas
Nebl, Helmut Quackernack et Monika Swiechowicz.
Les étudiants de Günther Zeilinger dans le programme d'accordéon à la Musikschule Hofer Symphoniker, le Stieglitz et Zimmerling programme comprenait Helmut Quakernack "Suite for Two", Antonio Soler cembalo Duos et Vladimir Zubitzky "Danses ukrainienne”. Le duo, qui a eu un score de 24 sur un total possible de 25 points, a été invité à se produire en concert mettant en vedette les gagnants de toutes les catégories, offrant une excellente exposition pour l'accordéon, entre autres musicians champion en Allemagne.

Robert R. Lilarose, âgés de 69 ans, mieux connu sous le nom artiste Bobby Raye, est décédé inopinément le 12 Mai au cours d'une soirée de spectacles dans Ocean City au Maryland. Il était le mari de Diane E. (Hoyer) Lilarose avec qui il irait célébré leur 50eme anniversaire de mariage le 14 Juin 2008.
Né le 7 Décembre 1938 à Reading, il était le fils de Harold A. et E. Pearl (Hartman) Lilarose. Il a été diplômé par l’école secondaire de lecture, la classe de 1956, et a servi á l'armée américaine. Bobby a commencé à jouer professionnellement l'accordéon à l'âge de quinze ans à l'Accueil Moose dans Waynesboro, PA. Il a également été un éminent accordéonniste, organiste et professeur de piano d'une grande partie de sa vie.
Bobby a joué dans des milliers de spectacles pour tous les types de publics et lieux au cours de sa carrière, y compris les conventions, foires, salons, festivals ethniques, les clubs et centres de partout aux États-Unis et au Canada. Son «acte» (un homme une comédie musicale spectacle) a été découvert par un talent scout de la Royal Caribbean Cruise Line qui pensait qu'il serait un acte parfait pour les navires et est entre dans la ligne de "All Stars" pendant plus de quinze ans . Bobby a joué sur plus de 600 croisières, qui l'a conduit, à plusieurs reprises et avec sa famille, partout dans le monde.
Un actif et passionné de l’orgue amateur, il a été membre de la Société de Delaware d'organes, the Susquehanna Valley Theater Organ Society, et aussi membre honnoraire de la Freestate Organ Society. Bobby est un membre actif d'Emmanuel United Church of Christ, Shillington, en Pennsylvanie. Il aimait la scène et sa musique enrichi la vie de tous ceux qui le connaissaient.

La carrière de Paolo Gandolfi a été menée en Allemagne, en France, États-Unis, Canada, Venezuela et Brésil, et ce sera sa 12eme visite au Brésil, où il jouit d'une grande popularité.
Paolo Gandolfi a enseigné à l'école de musique "C. Merulo" de Castelnovo ne 'Monti, près de Reggio Emilia, 40 ans, et est donc une personnalités de l'Italie de premier plan dans le monde de l’accordéon. Il joue et compose, en 2006 il a enregistré le CD 'Dialoghi' en duo avec son ancien élève, Daniele Donadelli (disponible à partir de www.musicforaccordion.com/inform/ddonadelli/index.htm - 32k).
Massimo Mazzantini, propriétaire de Castelfidardo Musica, a annoncé le déplacement de son magasin pour le rez-de-chaussée du prestigieux Palazzo Paolo Soprani. Massimo a passé une vie dans l'industrie de la musique et est un musicien, un accordeur de piano et inventeur. Il a ouvert son magasin actuel en 2000.
Ces dernières années, il a augmenté son activité dans le marché de l'accordéon, non seulement en raison de l'intérêt local, mais également du nombre croissant de visiteurs étrangers à Castelfidardo. Le nouveau magasin occupera le site de l'accordéon, exposition qui a fonctionné pendant plusieurs années.
Massimo a décidé de continuer à faire preuve qu’il a l'un des plus grands atelier d’accordéon, qui aura une mise en vente d’accordéons et un large éventail d'autres instruments et d'équipement d'amplification.

Accordionist Salomon Canelo had a special participation in a recent Mexican film with the title ‘Desire’, with famous Mexican actors Cristian Bach and Pedro Damian, amongst others, playing music from his CD ‘Vanguard’, in particular the piece titled ‘El Jardin de San Miguel’, on the diatonic button accordion. Salomon Canelo also participated in the musical soundtrack production in Hollywood for the American-made film ‘Padrino II’, which was filmed in San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Mexico.

This DVD is a complete guide to learning traditional diatonic 2-row Irish button accordion, teaching beginners basics like holding the accordion, first scales, bass notes and other fundamentals as well as more complex techniques such as how to add ornamentation and colour, drone-like chords, fingering positions and bellows movement. The annual Isle of Skye Accordion & Fiddle Festival takes place from May 22nd to 24th. 2nd ‘Olimpo Musicale’ International Competition, Prienai - Lithuania
The second ‘Olimpo Musicale’ International Competition takes place in the city of Prienai, from June 3rd to 8th. The event is organised by the local administration of the Prienai region, Veiveriai A.Kucingis School of Art (Director of Competition - Mindaugas Labanauskas, and Director of Art - Rasa Blebaite).
The competition, which includes accordion sections, run from June 3rd to 7th, and the closing ceremony takes place at the Cultural Centre concert hall in Prienai on June 8th.
The International Jury includes: Mirco Patarini - accordion, Italy; Andris Bauman – violin, Latvia; Eugenijus Ignatonis – piano, Lithuania; Bohdan Lukaszevicz – oboe, Poland; Vytautas Alenskas – folk music, Lithuania.
Diplomas and valuable prizes will be handed to the first, second and third prize winners. Accommodation at a nearby health resort, Birštonas (7 km from Prienai), can be provided for the participants and accompanying persons. There will be special buses to take the guests of the competition from Birštonas to Prienai.
The first Los Angeles Accordion Festival takes place from May 30th to June 1st at the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Club, 1596 Yosemite Drive, Los Angeles. This will be full weekend of music featuring bands showcasing their accordion players featuring diverse styles such as Zydeco, Cajun, Tejano and alternative experimental.
The festival looks forward to promoting the rise of accordion music in the Los Angeles community. Guest performers include Count Smokula, Cinderella Motel, Humble Hooligans, Hurricajuns, Sam Mellon and the Skylarks, Jessica Fichot, Los Pochos, Vagabond Opera, Mrs Brown's Lovely Daughter, La Santa Cecilia, Zydeco Party Band, and Ollin.
5th Accordionists Meeting in Tajuña, Madrid – Spain
A group of accordion playing friends meet annually somewhere in one of Tajuña´s villages, situated south east of Madrid. The meetings are not competitive, simply a friends' meeting, to play together or as soloists, and to share music. All are welcome. The next meeting takes place in Titulcia on June 20th, from 9.30pm.
The V111 International Competition for Accordionists (Variété and Classic), organised by L’Associazione Gruppo Tradizioni Popolari, takes place in Lanciano on October 3rd and 4th. This competition has several solo and ensemble sections, for different age categories. Auditions take place on these two days, with a concert by the winners of the various sections taking place on Saturday October 4th. The closing date for entries is September 20th.
Also in Lanciano, held at the F. Fenaroli Theater, October 3rd to 5th, is the IX International Prize for Concert-Accordionists “Città di Lanciano”. Competitors can play one or more own choice pieces, but the performance must last: 1st round - max 14 minutes; 2nd round - max 20 minutes; 3rd round - with orchestra, competitors can choose one of the following pieces: V.Troyan - ‘Favole’ or V. Zubitsky – ‘Omaggio a Astor Piazzolla’.
Both competitions offer a range of trophies and monetary prizes. All the other competitors will receive a certificate of participation.
